About Me
Hi, I'm Karen. I’m in my 50s and live in the north of Scotland with my husband Mike and my rescue dog, Daisy.
I've had a massively varied job history but never considered myself to have a career. Most recently, I worked for the National Health Service and, while rewarding, it could be incredibly stressful. As I hit 50 I decided that I needed a change and started looking for a career that would keep me interested and fulfilled well into my retirement years.
As part of this search, I was introduced to a life coach. He helped me work through some beliefs that were holding me back and gave me the confidence and purpose I was seeking. Through working with him, I realised that life coaching was something that I could enjoy and be good at so I undertook a formal training program which led to my gaining a Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching in March 2022.
If there was ever an advert for life coaching, I believe I’m it! Changing careers, particularly when you’re nearer the end of your working life than the beginning, can be a scary thing but it’s also a complete thrill and gives me great energy. Coaching is a field that is growing and constantly evolving so I'm always learning, and that helps to keep things fresh and interesting. I'm now taking a stand for the coaching industry and spreading the word about what we are all capable of creating for ourselves, once we realise how amazing we all are.

About coaching
Having been through this myself, I now specialise in working with women who feel at a crossroads in their life. This can be anything from the kids leaving home, a change of career, divorce or menopause, to name just a few.
So often, we go through our lives following a path that we think is the right one, but there are times when things start to feel uncomfortable or unfulfilling. We may feel that we’re meant for more, or that we’re following someone else’s path rather than our own.
Coaching provides a safe space where you can work out all the options, dig deeper into what’s important to you, and develop strategies for dealing with further questions that may arise in your life.
All the answers are within you. Coaching helps to tease them out and, because they come entirely from you, they will work for you. Rather than looking outside of yourself for a solution, and endlessly trying things that have worked for other people, coaching helps you to find a tailor made plan to move you forward in your life.
Put simply, coaching is a conversation. You can't get it wrong! There's no pressure to have a 'light bulb' moment in every session. What I aim to do is show you that we all have our own inbuilt guidance system that will always come up with the answer you need. All you need to do is slow down and calm the normal chatter of the brain so that you can tune into your own inner wisdom. The best thing is that, once you've learned how to do this, that wisdom is available to you whenever you need it.
If you still have questions, please reach out to me via email or on Messenger. We can chat online for as long as needed before you're ready to take the next step. That next step is simply a conversation, normally over Zoom, where we discuss what's brought you to this point and how I can help you. This process takes as long as it takes. There's never any hard sell from me and I won't sign you up as a client until I'm sure it's the best fit for both of us.
Imagine being able to let go of all that doubt, and trust that you're always doing what's best for you. Let's have a chat about what that could look like.
