About Me
My name is Karen, I’m 54 years old and I was born and brought up in the Midlands of England. I moved to the south coast in 2001 after I met my husband, Mike, and lived there until 2014 when we decided to move all the way up to the north of Scotland. I now live about 40 miles east of Inverness, near the beautiful Moray coast.
Until recently, and for the past 14 years, I worked for the UK's National Health Service. A couple of years ago I started feeling that I wanted to do something different and, when the pandemic hit in 2020, this became even clearer to me. I took an online course in mindfulness, which helped enormously with the stress and anxiety of my job at the time. More importantly, it taught me that I love learning and am passionately interested in understanding how our brains work.
I was still searching for that elusive ‘purpose’ for my life when I was introduced to a life coach. He helped me work through some beliefs that were holding me back and gave me the confidence and purpose I was seeking. Through working with him, I realised that life coaching was something that I could enjoy and be good at so I undertook a formal training program which led to my gaining a Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching in March 2022.
If there was ever an advert for life coaching, I believe I’m it! Changing careers, particularly when you’re nearer the end of your working life than the beginning, can be a scary thing but it’s also a complete thrill and gives me great energy. Coaching is a field that is growing and constantly evolving so I'm always learning and that helps to keep things fresh and interesting. I'm now taking a stand for the coaching industry and spreading the word about what we are all capable of creating for ourselves, once we realise how amazing we all are.

About coaching
Have you ever had a moment where you’ve thought “Is this all there is?”. Or maybe you have a big decision to make but, no matter how many ways you look at it, you can’t seem to come to a conclusion?
So often, we go through our lives following a path that we think is the right one, but there are times when things start to feel uncomfortable or unfulfilling. We may feel that we’re meant for more, or that we’re following someone else’s path rather than our own.
This is where life coaching can help.
Coaching provides a safe space where you can work out all the options, dig deeper into what’s important to you, and develop strategies for dealing with further questions that may arise in your life.
All the answers are within you. Coaching helps to tease them out and, because they come entirely from you, they will work for you. Rather than looking outside of yourself for a solution, and endlessly trying things that have worked for other people, coaching helps you to find a tailor made plan to move you forward in your life.
I will use my experience to ask you questions that you may not have considered, to look at things from a different angle and to deeply listen to what you are struggling with. Together we will untangle the confusion, discuss all the possibilities and come to a solution that works for you.
Put simply, coaching is a conversation. You can't get it wrong! There's no pressure to have a 'light bulb' moment in every session. What I aim to do is show you that we all have our own inbuilt guidance system that will always come up with the answer you need. All you need to do is slow down and calm the normal chatter of the brain so that you can tune into your own inner wisdom. The best thing is that, once you've learned how to do this, that wisdom is available to you whenever you need it.
If you still have questions, please reach out to me via email or message me via my Facebook page. We can chat online for as long as needed before you're ready to take the next step. That next step is simply a conversation, normally over Zoom, where we discuss what's brought you to this point and how I can help you. This process takes as long as it takes. There's never any hard sell from me and I won't sign you up as a client until I'm sure it's the best fit for both of us.
Imagine being able to let go of all that doubt, and trust that you're always doing what's best for you. Let's have a chat about what that could look like.
